“Pediatric Dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides both primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.”

Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at GSL Dental College was established in 2013. BDS undergraduate students are trained in preclinical and clinical procedures.

The department has also got approval to start three-year MDS post-graduate program form 2019. As GSL is surrounded by many villages, where regular dental camps and oral health education programs are conducted, the department has good quantity of clinical material. We participated in school dental health programs of about 60 schools in 3 mandals and some schools were also adopted to provide oral health care to the students on regular basis.

As the college is attached to a medical hospital, we have access to all basic sciences experts who will provide good knowledge in basic science subjects. The post graduate students will be trained to provide all types of preventive, restorative, endodontic, orthodontic and other dental treatments including behavior management and offering treatments under sedation and General anesthesia. We have state of art operation theatres to manage all types of cases including trauma, tumors/cysts and others under anesthesia.

We offer a full spectrum of services for all children at every stage of their lives from infancy through adolescence including those with special and complex oral health needs, and patients with special developmental and behavioral care needs.
